U.S. Department of Transportation Announces New Compensation to Denied Airline Passengers (Bumping Rule)

May 1, 2008: The new rule doubles compensation for involuntary "bumping" from a flight.

WHTI Land and Sea Implementation to Occur June 1, 2009

Apr 1, 2008: DHS is publishing the WHTI land and sea final rule more than a year in advance of its implementation to give the public ample notice and time to obtain the WHTI-compliant documents they will need on or after June 1, 2009.

Department of Homeland Security to Deploy 10-Fingerprint Scanners at Nine Ports of Entry

Jan 24, 2008: Nine U.S. airports are slated to begin using the ten-fingerprint scanners in 2008.
