In celebration of John F. Kennedy's 100th birthday, the Kennedy Center opens its doors wider than ever on May 29, 2017, with a free, cross-cultural festival showcasing street arts culture, hip-hop and skateboard culture, as well as classical and contemporary arts.
Open House welcomes the public to explore and experience the performing arts through the halls, theaters and plazas of the Kennedy Center via more than 30 free performances, activities and events, for all ages and tastes. The arts program will feature artists from across the United States, the Washington, D.C., region and abroad.
This event is the culmination of a year-long centennial celebration of President Kennedy's birth. Acting as a "living memorial," the Kennedy Center will highlight Kennedy's enduring ideals of courage, freedom, justice, service and gratitude.
